The eight group winners are seeded and will be drawn against group runners-up while clubs cannot play against those from the same association or from within their same group.
Those teams that finished second in their group will host the first legs on 12/13 and 19/20 February.

For the first time since the group stage was introduced, the reigning European champions will not be taking part in the competition come the New Year – following Chelsea’s exit after finishing behind Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk in Group E.
Alex Song would relish a return to Arsenal should Barcelona be pitted against his old club in the UEFA Champions League draw.

Just for those of you interested in conspiracy theories - this draw was EXACTLY the same as the mock draw that was done earlier in the day!
